ABOUT US
The Lake Jackson Doggy Dash
In 2011, the Lake Jackson Doggy Dash 5k Run/Walk was created a group of dedicated animal lovers to give pet owners and pets an opportunity to gather and have fun while exercising with their pets. The proceeds from this race go to the local Brazoria County SPCA. In 2011 we raised over $2500, $2500 in 2012, $6000 in 2013 and $5000 in 2014!
Our Mission Statement
To improve the pet owner community in the Brazosport area by providing local dog-friendly events to promote animal health, encourage the Brazosport community involvement and to fund-raise for the local SPCA of Brazoria County.
The Planning Team
Alexia Finotello
Alexia grew up with many small pets in her house such as hamsters, gerbils, fish and a little brother. Then one Christmas, she got the best present ever, a family puppy dog named Baggio, a Husky-Samoyed mix. She really couldn't believe they had a dog and asked her mom if pigs were flying!
Alexia grew up and moved out of her parents house and after a few years in graduate school in colorado, she knew there was something missing! She and her husband went to the Boulder Valley Humane Society and adopted Bella, who is now their 7 year old black lab. Since then, she has been actively involved in local animal charities (both in Colorado and now in Texas).
Nikki Pietragallo
Nikki grew up always having dogs in the house, among other pets such hamsters, guinea pigs, horses, birds and even rats! After graduating from college and working for a few years, she decided her apartment felt pretty empty and adopted a kitten named Tank from the SPCA of Brazoria County. A few years later, just after meeting her husband, they adopted their dog Penny from the local pound.
